The City Council in Denver is considering rules that will allow drive-thru and walk-up cannabis sales to continue after the covid restrictions expire.

Under state law, cannabis drive-thru and walk-up sales are legal. However, the Marijuana Enforcement Division requires local governments to opt into the rule.

The different options for obtaining cannabis products allow consumers and patients to have access to the products that they need safely and comfortably.

The executive director of the Marijuana Industry Group, Truman Bradley, said these conveniences should be made permanent.

The Cannabis Industry is Ever-Changing

The cannabis industry is not going anywhere anytime soon. And as it continues to grow and states pass legislation to legalize recreational cannabis. Advocates will push to have more avenues to sell and buy the products. It is important to keep up with the changing times. Colorado legalized cannabis nearly a decade ago. So, regulations for dispensaries should change over time.

The Department of Excise and Licenses continues to move forward with the proposal to allow cannabis delivery services throughout Denver. But the proposal did not include provisions for to-go sales.

Nonetheless, city council members said that they plan to continue talking about the issue in the next few weeks.
