“Tiger King” Star Joe Exotic is Launching His Own Cannabis Line

Just over a year after Netflix launched the docu-series “Tiger King,” the Tiger King himself, Joe Exotic, is looking at launching his own cannabis product line. According to a TMZ reporter, Joe is going to partner with Tango Hotel Charlie Group, LLC and Cannaxxs LTD to create Joe Exotic Cannabis.

Joe Exotic

The world became introduced to Joe Exotic in March of 2020, right when the Covid-19 pandemic began picking up and the country shut down. While people quarantined, they got to experience a strange man from Oklahoma who owned a large cat zoo. The world also met Joe’s archnemesis, Carol Baskins, who is the reason that Joe Exotic now finds himself in jail on two counts of murder-for-hire, eight counts of violating the Lacey Act for falsifying wildlife records, and nine counts of violating the Endangered Species Act. He received a 22 year sentence in April 2020, shortly after the Netflix docu-series aired.

Joe Exotic has continuously said this past year has been a “living hell”. And it’s not just because of the pandemic. From his fans to former employees, everyone seems to be out to get him. Joe Exotic claims that those who put him in jail lied on the stand to take advantage of him. For Joe, at the end of the day, it all comes back to “Carole Baskin getting my zoo and closing me down.”

Product Line

In July 2020, Joe Exotic had the idea to create his own cannabis product line in order to help people with their pain. Since then, he’s partnered with his attorney, Brad Small, to create Joe Exotic Cannabis. Every step of the way Joe Exotic has reportedly been involved with through emails and phone calls.

Under his product line, there will be CBD edibles. This is for states, like his stomping ground of Oklahoma, can sell his product legally in pharmacies. Oklahoma only offers medical cannabis for qualifying patients right now. For now, Joe Exotic Cannabis is going to be sold in California, Colorado, and Oklahoma. However, it can be assumed that Joe Exotic will look to expand to more states as sales increase. Hopefully his new cannabis line will bring some joy to the Tiger King.

Joe Exotic isn’t the only celebrity to launch their own cannabis line. In 2019, actor and cannabis activist Seth Rogen introduced his own product line called Houseplant. Could celebrity cannabis lines could become commonplace? Or is the “Tiger King” just trying to capitalize on the spotlight? That remains to be seen.
